Idea development
For the final assessment I think I will endeavour to create a stop animation, as I enjoyed creating the practice one last year and found the end result really enjoyable to watch. I am interested in the idea of creating images to accompany a song; The images would obviously have to relate to the song lyrics, and the overall theme of the whole thing. I really enjoy creating little sketches and hand rendering them, so it would be cool to incorporate this into my final work, I have also recently become more acquainted with photoshop and illustrator so could potentially incorporate some of these skills into my final work.

Stop Animation Research
Just a bit of research into some different types of stop animations that re circulating on youtube for our viewing pleasure.
This clip is one of the most popular on youtube,It's a very impressive video to watch, there would have been soooo much work involved in the making of it! Love the fine details, right down the the crinkles in the sheets.
This one is funny, you almost start to believe that its magical!
This is awesome! imagine how long it would have taken to place all the same coloured mnm's in the exact right spot! crazy. Very impressive though, and really fun to watch!

Installation
After completing our minature installation and getting a feel for installed work, we were then required to create our own full scale installation, for which we were to include a proposal, idea development, the original images saved into our student folder, and then selected images, optimised using photoshop, uploaded and critiqued upon.
My idea was to depict a singular chair in various environmental settings, which can convey varied emotions amongst an audience. A lone chair can be associated with loneliness, depression, isolation, and evoke questions such as 'why's that chair there" 'Was someone sitting in it?' 'What were they doing?' 'Why were they here?' and so on. I think i have effectively portaryed some of these emotions within my photographs.
As you can see i have applied this in a variety of settings, from atop a wall in my front yard, submerged in the pool, at Apex Park and around Lake Albert.
Teeny Tiny Installation
For this assessment we were required to construct our own miniature installation as an introduction to installed photographic work.
I took these photo's using the macro setting on my camera and just matches and a crack in the pavement in my backyard. I stuck the matches into the crack to make them stand vertical and then experiemented with different angles and shots, taking into consideration composition, aesthetic value and rule of thirds.
i experimented with the matches as they were, then lighting the matches so the flame was a part of the photo, and then the end product of the burnt out matches, which depicts the life of a match.
Photographer Research
Research a photographer and post examples of their work, then discuss what you like about the artist and their images.
For this unit i researched fashion photographers, as this is a field i'm very interested in. I selected Mario Testino to focus on, as i really like his work and he has produced some great photographs throughout his career.
One of the things i like is that all his photographs are so different and varied, he doesn't use just one style, theme, concept and so on in his works, but explores a very wide range of possibilities to create his works and each one is conceptually and visually very strong.
As you can see below, Testino works in a lot of fashion/ glamour shots and uses a lot of celebrity models. Testiono creates a different mood and emotion by each image he captures, which is one of the skills essential for being a great photographer.
