I chose to put a grey scale filter over my photographs, and then highlight certain selected areas of the photo by earasing the grey away to reveal the colour in the photo .
i think this is quite an effective filter option, as you can control how much or how little you reveal of the photo/
This image depicts a flower, to which i have then erased the centre away from to reveal the lovely purple hue, which is further highlich\ghted by the bright white of the petals surrounding it.
This is a part of a roof, which has paint flaking off it to create a really old and antiue look. i like this image because it gives the impression that the new layer underneath has been covered with the old over the top which is now peeling off due to age and deterioration. the irony !
This image has a lovely composition to it, the slight angle adds an element of further interest and the revealing of the light blue hue in the text aids the old and antique feel of the sign, as the text is faded and peeling off. very effective i think
This is possibly my favourite photo. i think it's very effective in the way that i've cropped the photo to not include the whole object, but just enought that it is still easily recognisable and effective as a photograph . The red hue on the handle also gives off mixed emotions - danger, caution, passion and so on, which the viewer can decipher for themselves and create their own personal meaning
the extreme cropping of this photo makes it slightly harder to recognise, but as i feel it is still an effective image, as it is a clear and concise shot which shows the ageing of the surface beautifully.
this image depicts a singular rose petal, which i have chosen to highlight all of in order to contrast the beautiful warm hue and natural form with the dark and artifical background of the cold and grey concrete. i quite like it, despite having seen images and effects similar to this been done before
