For this assessment task we were given the name of an object, for example 'cars' or 'rubbish' and then we were required to go out and about and take photos of our selected object, which in my case was 'Signs'.
I have taken numerous photos, and selected the following 4 to showcase this assessment task. I have edited each of the following photo's, and played around with their hue saturation and the levels to adjust the image to make it of a better quality and more aesthetically appealing for a broader audience range.
This photo is compositionally sound, i like how the sign is off to the side and runs thorugh both the bottom and top of the boarder, i feel that it leads your eye though the work. The hue saturation has been adjusted in this photo to make the colours more vibrant and stand out more, which i felt was the best option after playing around with various filters. if anything i think the white of the signs on the post is a bit too vibrant and shiney, which adds an almost blurred effect which lessens the image quality slightly. Apart from that though, i'm very happy with this photo
This image has been altered also, as i was playing around and experimenting with diffferent effects that can be created by adjusting levels and applying filters.
Perhaps this photo is a little too vibrant, and needs tro be toned down a little, to avoid the overly fake and photoshopped feel. Apart from that i quite like the photo, and feel that the composition works well, the angle the sign is on creates an interesting shadow and the rule of thirds works effectively within the composition.
This photo isn't one of my favourites, As i don't really like the shadows being cast across the sign or the background, I feel that those elements take away from the image quality and could be mor resolved to make a stronger image.
However I put this photo up because the huge contrast between the vibrant red and the stark white strikes me and i really like the effect created by these two hues bouncing off one another. This contrast has been helped by adjusting the hue saturation and image levels on photoshop
This image is very different to the other 3 i have posted, instead of heightening the colour saturation and brightening the image i have dulled it slightly, which gives the grey shadow on the sign and makes the red text less vibrant- the complete opposite of what i was trying to achieve with the other photos . I have also added an orange filter to the background sky, which gives the impression of a sunset or dusk which i think is quite nice and a bit different. compositionally this phot works well, the angle the phot was taken on creates a nice visual effect and adds an element of interets, whilst also allowing for the sky/ background to show which adds depth to the image. This filter effect just shows how many numerous and incredibly varied effects you can achieve whilst using photoshop
